I've written two novels under my maiden name but was married in February and decided to change my name. At first, I figured that I would keep releasing books under my maiden name, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that I wanted to embrace the married name and re-focus my branding.
Now, I came to this realization because my books haven't been tremendous sellers and my audience, however small, would probably not be affected by the name change because it's actually quite similar, from Mosbrucker to McElprang. Yeah, I know.
If I had thousands or millions of followers, I might consider keeping my maiden name as the focus for my branding, but for now, at this point in my career, changing doesn't seem to represent a significant problem.
